Hi from Valais!

Or Wallis, if you ask a German-speaking resident.

Spring has arrived at Rhône River Valley. Through my window, I see cherry blossoms. A meadow is sprinkled with yellow flowers. I can hear the twitter of birds other than crows.

(As I write this, I heard a chicken too, just for a while, to remind me, I guess, this is not New York.)

Maybe I’m just projecting that spring has arrived, as meteorologists forecast colder days too. Maybe I just want those exceptional +20 degrees Celsius to remain.

These days, with the climate state as it is, you never know if seasons are early or late.

While the environmentalists would argue this is pretty much under human control, the world is sadly preoccupied with arming up.

When it comes to the aviation industry, we can definitely control some things, and arm up too.

Metal birds (planes, right?) cannot just excuse themselves from being late like feathered birds possibly could.

Did you know you can file an air compensation claim if your flight has been delayed or canceled? Well, at least in the European Union, this passenger weapon is protected, even if airlines might prefer you stay uninformed about it.

Services such as AirHelp can ensure that you don’t get just a refund, but also up to 600 euros of compensation money, to soothe your troubles for not arriving at the destination on time!

Speaking of showing up on time, if you somehow missed the last newsletter on the newest Pipeaway video series Been There, Done That, in the meantime I wrote a more detailed article on the Children on a Bicycle mural in PenangMalaysia.

Observing the not-always-predictable human behavior is very interesting to me, but I understand not everyone has time or wishes to look for entertainment in a 109-minute video. If you just have a minute, then watch this mom directing her kids for a selfie! The little girl surely doesn’t like it, but she’s too young to vote.

Power is not always in our hands, indeed. Next Sunday, remember, we will be moving the clocks forward 1 hour. You’ll lose an hour of sleep, but you’ll be able to enjoy more light in the evening.

The clock changes are annoying to most of us, but at least we can comfort ourselves by enjoying the late hours sooner.

Have a late-sleeping week!
